It has a goddamn riot shield.
Nuff said.

Also, has anyone modded their guns? Extra power mod or paint job?

Posted by: SirSquidness Sep 7 2010, 07:24 PM

Hells yeah NERF.

I haven't done any major modifications, just the "coins behind spring" and "extra distance in the barrel swing" on the maverick.

Posted by: Tank Sep 7 2010, 07:49 PM

i havn't done ANY mods :S

Posted by: Alioth Sep 7 2010, 08:18 PM

This isn't really a 'mod', but it's still awesome. I assembled it from add-ons of a couple of guns to make UBER PISTOL!

Have tried the mod to remove the air limiters in a Maverick, can't say I noticed much difference.

Also trying a couple of paint jobs. Pics soon biggrin.gif

Yea, i'm definately considering paint jobs. Just remember they can't be all black or they are illegal!

More specifically, keep the orange tip on the barrel.
I always thought it'd be awesome if a gun company released say a pistol that had a fluro orange tip. Would keep people on their toes!

Thinking about painting my clear guns on the inside

Already fixed the laser pointer from the recon by replacing the wussy LED with a real laser

As far as power goes, I have just done the flow restrictor removal

Posted by: SLoV Sep 10 2010, 08:49 PM

i put a 12 v 3AH battery on my vulcan, and a laser sight and paint job on my mav smile.gif

Anyone want to buy mine ?

1 vulcan and 2 mavs ???

Posted by: Redback Sep 18 2010, 07:04 PM

Got a longstrike and stampede yesterday, and they sent me a free nitefinder

drilled out the AR on the longstrike and nitefinder, havnt started on the stampede yet

planning on doing the ar and upping the voltage for faster firing, not sure what im going to do for the volt mod yet (thinking about 4 9v batteries setup for 18v, but that might be a little bit too fast to work reliably)

Also stripped down the stupid tactical rail sight thing that came with the longstrike, and attached a cheapo supermarket led torch

dodgy pic but cbf getting out real camera

If you can wait until Respawn, I recently acquired at least 50x9v batteries which I am willing to donate some to what ever is a good cause, and this sounds like a very good one

Posted by: Redback Sep 19 2010, 11:26 AM

Unfortunately I'm not coming to the next event, and my research has indicated that anything past 16v makes it jam.

So I'm trying to think of a new plan.

I've found the ultimate NERF gun to bring to Respawn:

That is so damn cool. Did you notice much difference in range on the Mav after the air restrictor removal? I've heard mixed opinions.

Thursday 11 to Wednesday 24 November 20% OFF ALL NERF @ Target. Ammo check?

If only you could shoot a full load before the Co2 runs out. I use those cartridges on my pushy @$2.50 for a 6 nerf round thats a fail in my book but nice idea.

Maverick is a notriously pissy nerf gun, even when modded. It's such a shame because it looks so FREAKING COOL.

Recon is a beast when modded, but it has the bad habbit of chewing up darts.

I haven't tried modding my Vulcan yet as i'm quite happy with it's full auto-preformance.

I want to buy either the longshot or the longstrike next. The longstrike looks freaking cool, but the scope on the longshot would look awesome on my recon..

May we never forget the Fallen.

Latest addition to my arsenal:

Didn't actually come with the red dot sight nor the scope.

Also, there's now a semi auto pistol called the Barricade. Looks kinda cool but function seems limited.

Also, the Alpha Trooper:

Like some sort of sawn of shottie with a slam fire option.

Posted by: Red Leader Nov 13 2010, 07:12 PM

Barricade is actually pretty good, next to no modding, but on it's own, pretty good.
The semi-automatic is done through a fly wheel, which means it's bloody loud, but it's a fair shot, being a vertical flywheel and puts out the ten shots fairly well.

Posted by: DArenberg Nov 14 2010, 08:13 AM

Had a look at the barricade in Target didn't know much about it, picked up a nitefinder for 10 bucks planning on doing some choppy chop, polished nestled brass barrel, upgrade springs, AR removal, 6 x Ammo holder mod, light removal, rubber grip, new coat of paint. Looking for a range of 20+ meters that should cover most of the hall if I sit in the middle tongue.gif

If you get 65 feet on a Nite finder, please tell me every detail. That. Would. Be. Godly.

Hey has anyone seen the LongSTRIKE in any shops? That's the only one i'm really looking to add to my arsenal (and possibly a longshot for the scope)

Got mine in Target a while back, haven't seen them round since.

Also, I see NERF are releasing most of the current guns in 'sonic' versions, the only difference being the plastic is clear green. Doesn't exactly sit well with fluro orange...

I was hoping to get a rifle but none in Target , Big W or K mart @ Chadstone & Forry, but not in a rush so didn't check else where.

Red Leader something like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbtGbsHIZvI 65 feet ain't hard. That one doesn't even have a bungee return.

http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161392 thats the PPK mod one I am looking at I don't like the paint job tho.

Ive opened up a few so far, so here goes.

Nitefinders are the best stock guns you will get, and mod fairly simply (although drilling out the AR can leave spikes in the plunger area, that need longnose pliers to get to)

Mavericks are crap to mod, stick with a nitefinder for sidearm.

Recon CS-6 are easy to get a cheap mod with, just roll some electrical tape around the front of the barrel where the spring goes (so the spring will end up against a solid wall of tape) dont make it too thick, its only got to stop the spring, too much will cause a jam.

Longshots are a powerful force to be reckoned with. The front part can just have the AR removed for a similar to stock nitefinder backup shot (decent for that suprise bullet), and the back can be done a few ways.

The way Ive done the back on my longshot is to use a washer under the pyramid shaped part of the plunger (the washer I use is actually this bent one that is like a keyboard key thick due to the bend thing in it)
This means your stock spring is more compressed at all times, increasing range.

And I havent even properly removed the AR from it yet lol (know how, too lazy to pull apart again just yet)

oh, if anyone has a few spare springs for any of the guns (stock or otherwise...) I would love to try them out.

And, I suppose if someone brings a precision screwdriver set and some electrical tape, I'll mod their recon for them. (you can drill out your own AR though)

edit: yeah, not going to be able to bring my longshot due to limited car space, and my nitefinder is lost somewhere under my bed so thats not coming either sad.gif (those are the 2 I own lol)

Anyhoo, Mavericks may not be the best to power mod, but they sure are purdy.
