I'm building a server with 30 2tb drives on a hardware raid card(something along the lines of the adaptec 52445 or similar) and was a little bit curious as to spare 10Gbit ports on the central switch and if there is whether are fibre or copper ports.

ill either be buying a single port 10 Gbit port or a Intel PRO quad Gigabit card card depending if theres enough space left on the central switches at Respawn.

thoughts?

10GbE ports usually require fibre not copper. As to the space left there is usually a couple of ports left. Using "Quad cards", you need to make sure they support a form of "port channeling" which allows us on the switch to group the ports together, as using "Intelligent load switching", well its not so intelligent when it tries to commit network suicide.
