QUOTE (R4N @ Mar 24 2013, 08:06 PM) *

I have a request.

Could the WC3 TD comp be moved to be after Dota2? Considering most people who play Dota, also play wc3 it doesn't make sense for these two comps to overlap.

This would work if you consider that LoL and Dota2 are very similar. It's unlikely players are going to have a clash and it would make more sense to run these tournaments concurrently like CS, COD and TF2. Even just pushing it back a couple of hours would be nice.

This leaves the option of pushing the TD comp later, while not being too late. If this caused an issue with the organisation, I'd be happy to volunteer my help.

Other than that, I can't wait! biggrin.gif

It's not so much an issue with having someone to run it, but more trying to avoid clashes where possible.

CS:GO, LOL, SC2 and DOTA always bring out the bigger teams so we've had to bring them forward. For example LOL didn't finish until almost 9pm well after schedule last time, so I've expanded it out after consultation with R4N (the competitions master).

I'll speak to R4N and see what we can do. I don't know if it is movable or not.

Yeah, I understand how tough it is to keep to schedule sometimes, but surely having a possible clash at the end of a comp is better than having a definite clash in the middle. Or are you not talking about Dota2 and wc3?

Thanks for taking it up the chain smile.gif

Hi,

The rationale behind running DOTA2 later than LoL is that if competitors get knocked out early from LoL, they can still get some more MOBA action with the DOTA2 tournament.

Would the wc3 td comp be able to be moved after the dota2 comp at least then?

Considering how parted the DOTA genre communities are, the Dota comp may become very interesting... hehe

I have brought the request to the competitions ring master R4N to see what can be done.

I'm sure its possible, just may need to reshuffle.

So will the Tron competition be at the first or second 2am? Given that the clocks go back at 3am...

Hi Redlon1992,

Thanks for your Q, Tron will run at 2am as per the competition timetable. I clarified this with the comps master r4n.

Cheers

Jeffy
