Hey sneaky, To quote SirSquidness in the post Chairs (http://respawn.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=1092( QUOTE (SirSquidness @ Jan 22 2010, 11:43 PM) You are allowed to bring your own chairs.
If they are too big and obstruct walkways, then you will both be expected to exercise common sense and courtesy by not using it, and/or we will request you to remove it.
See you there Also, during a previous discussion, the general consensus was no to dual screens unless one of those screens is a laptop. Having said that, you get half a table length, so 2 screens would be pretty hard to fit on that unless one of them is on top of ur case, which is a pretty precarious position. (Yes, I did tax that off Patryn and change tenses.) Hope that helps you out, any other questions you have can probably be answered in The Jumbo Q&A thread (http://respawn.com.au/forums/index.php?showtopic=1184) or the guides on the main page (http://respawn.com.au/?page=guides)

One PC. One screen. One power point*. One network point.
As above, your own chairs are fine as long as they do not obstruct walkways or annoy surrounding players.
* For you to plug your power board in to

If you enjoy being shunted and nudged every 2 minutes by people walking down the already tight aisles, bring a big arse computer chair.

It does depend on the chair. If it's a normal sort of sized officeworks type chair, then you should be ok. If you decide to recline your chair, then have fun getting bumped and bashed and i will probably bonk you on the head as i go past for being a duffer and taking up space. If we are getting on the large side of chairs, then please use come common sense.
Dual screens? no. We supply you with a single power point, and a single network point for you to plug your power board with your SINGLE computer and SINGLE screen. Also you only get half a table, and unless you are bringing dual 17" screens, then you are going to annoy the heck out of the person sitting next to you. (even with dual 17" = no!)

For those that must have the extra screen real estate, I have found the answer: http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/usb-gadgets/bfa3/Perfect for playing tf2 while your main monitor is keeping track of your game of solitaire. Actually, that gives me an idea. Anyway, butt cushions are easiest, and can be used to cushion your monitor in-transit. As much as I'd love to bring my big comfy chair...

Yeah, but only the RULES OF DONG apply to me. Also, if you want dual screens... I'm sure it would be ok if you checked with who ever you are sitting with first and paid 2 entry fees? So $60 entry fee + who ever sits next to you will think you're a dick Is it worth it?

I assume if you registered, confirmed, and paid for two seats, then you would be entitled to run two computers' worth of peripherals on your whole table worth of space. But when you left respawn you would be mugged by the 200+ people on the waiting list who couldn't get a single place, let alone two. So I don't think it would be worth it imho

So I don't think it would be worth it imho You would have to be registered as two people, confirmed as two people, in the top 500 as two people, pay for 2 people. and yes, that poor person at 501 will be very sad becuase you thought you needed your two screens to play games I've only ever had pc + laptop and that's cause i do check-ins, and someone else uses the laptop. The admins have multiple screens cause they will often be running so many comps or whatnot. Seriously, have a think, do you NEED two screens? really? it's jsut for one weekend!

The guy I sat next to last time had a 22" and a 19" with the 19" purely doing DC++ but on an angle, we fit both those and my 24" on the table fine.

I'm curious about something... You say large chairs aren't a good idea, which I agree with completely.
But what happens if said chair is a wheelchair? I'm not in one myself (not yet anyway), but I do sometimes get around on crutches so I am curious as to what the best option there is.
I don't like making waves, but I haven't seen anything so far that refers to this situation.

I strongly suggest you let someone know. Most notably I'd say Tank if that's the case and let her know you're in a wheel chair so accommodations can be made for you. Given the really steep incline into the front of the hall is a major challenge I'm sure.
But yes, if your in a wheelchair, logistics planning and stuff we can work around most issues if you tell us in advance.

Jeffy I kinda figured this would be the case, after talking to Goose over the past few weeks/months. I will be there this weekend (baring any family or health emergencies), and hopefully without having to deal with crutches. But time will tell on that. This will be my 2nd Respawn, but my 1st as a player. --Shub0xx

The LAN this weekend had to be the worst one I had been to simply because everyone seemed to have brought their own massive chairs and wanted to recline and wheel around in them, always smashing into me. Seriously pissed me off, and I wouldn't be surprised if some people wont come back because of it. You need to have some stricter rules on this shit, along with people screaming, and people using speakers on laptops/drums/guitar hero. It ruins the whole lan when someone wants to make a heap of noise just to get attention for some reason. Not to mention that some of these guys decided they were in their right to move other peoples stuff from a unreserved table at the start of the day, simply so they could have their own massive group.

I had same bad experience with dick heads with reclining seats. Should be banned full stop as the event is becoming bigger and the isles are getting smaller since there are more tables. It only takes one idiot to ruin the whole night for someone else. Inconsiderate pricks who keep banging into the back of you as they get in and out of their seats because they take up so much god damn room. Needles to say it was the local forum troll's group A wanker online and a wanker IRL

Well I had a good time the chairs were a bit crazy but the yelling was a bit in pore taste at some times, but I have nothing against people getting excited about winning a round or 2 of Tron.

Yeah this was more than a bit of excitement. It was screaming at each other about shit noone else wants to hear, singing along to crap songs, or just yelling out random crap for no reason other than to get attention. A fair few of us were ready to snap at them, and noone wants that to happen, so how about next LAN try and cut down on the crap that annoys people. Why do people need to bring office chairs? Is the comfort of one worth the annoyance of many? Many of us are quite capable of surviving a day on a plastic chair, even if it means bringing a cushion or something to sit on.

People with big arse chairs shouldnt sit on the main walkways, and should probably stick to the places that have slightly more space, like against the windows and in the annex
Also people shouldnt stand around in the main walkways blocking them off. And to make things worse, some of them were bitching about people wanting to get past them all the time. fkn morons.

I'm guessing Stocky and MrDerrick were in the annex and on the window?
1 - Sorry about all the noise, I didn't think we were truly that loud at all times, we yelled/screamed some pretty stupid things at times but it wasn't constant nor to piss people off. we did get abit loud in the morning during a game together but by that time, most players were gone. We're all pretty ill tempered with shit all sleep making it seem worse? Most of us were asleep during the early hours and thus quiet.
2 - Annex was a bit lob sided with how it was setup and did make office chairs on the table/along the wall of the annex hard and I did suggest to players that we should try to move the tables down, even alittle but nobody gave a shit/was already set up. (Talking about the bit close to the entrance, other side was fine) I'm assuming you were in the middle of the annex near the wall, knowing a friend did accidently bump into other players during the LAN, it's hard to avoid at the amount of people.
3 - Not sure about the stuff being moved, we had a table set out for us in the annex because we're a large group. Drums was newcomers/people, probably not a wise choice with where they were sitting but I noticed they were later moved..
4 - Speakers, no clue, I had headphones in or wasn't even around or at my desk.
Not sure why you guys didn't just approach one of us/them and ask them to shut up? I wasn't at my table a lot but we're all just a bunch of teenagers full of sugar, excitement and rage from being owned in comps.

IF so i do apologise for being a pain with my chair. i did notice that there was a shit load more room on the other side like shakrs mentioned above. I too was thinking about moving the tables forward. But yeh i am sorry for who ever was behind me that i kept bumping into whenever i got in or out of my chair i did try and stop it from happening but it was too crowded and like my chair doesnt exactly sit right... even when its locked it still reclines to a extent but if i sit forward i have back problems so its one of thoes screwed if you do screwed if you dont. again.. IM sorry
