You paid for Internode 1.5mbit? Why not get higher? It just seems strange to me.

Please note: My speed test result is varied a little because I have QOS (quality of service) running to give my IP phone more priority when I am working.

Wait a minute, I thought I was on the same DSLAM as you...? The one near Galvin Park just got upgraded to Agile ADSL2+, meaning Internode should give you a minimum of 8mb/s for that price.

Also, your ping is WHACK. Were you downloading when you did that test or something?

Edit:
This is more like what you should be getting, assuming we're on the same plan and exchange:

Oh okay. Logically you'd expect them to upgrade it in the fairly near future though I guess...?

Also that still doesn't explain his ping tongue.gif

TPG, $50, 130gb, 70/60.
I'm around 3km from the exchange. DL speed maxes out at around 980k/s, upload just over 100k/s.
Awesome for its price.

Many people complain about TPG, but I've never had any issues, and it's always pretty stable.

Not at all. I believe every single one of them.

You should note that the image location for the high ones are all official SpeedTest.net images, hosted on said site.

I promised a reply... and here it is.....
I do believe the words.. "SUCK IT" apply.

Edit: At least this brings me closer to VU/Monash Speeds... without paying a kidney or liver per semester to use the connection. Or being a slave to them either.

TPG, $50, 130gb, 70/60.
I'm around 3km from the exchange. DL speed maxes out at around 980k/s, upload just over 100k/s.
Awesome for its price.

Many people complain about TPG, but I've never had any issues, and it's always pretty stable.

Same plan, same price, except I think mine spiked at the end tongue.gif Haven't had many problems so far, only little ones that were easily fixable.

I'm curious...

All the high speeds are impressive, but I am curious as to download limits associated with said speeds. I'd love to get the speed Zardoz is getting, but if the limit associated with it is capped at a certain level, or counts uploads, it wouldn't last very long.

P.S. Sorry for posting in an old thread, but it seemed to be the most relevant spot, and I cbf creating a new thread. Too tired.

TPG off-net (through telstra dslam), actually not half bad for the price

60 bucks a month for 100 / 100 which I haven't even got close to hitting yet

Best i've seen out of it was downloading SP1 for win7 which peaked out at about 1.5MB a sec which I thought was alright

shuboxx, I've got the same service Zardoz does (until he ditched it and kept the new modem) and for $129 or $149 I think including unlimited homephone the premium speed comes with 1TB of anytime usage (both directions counted).

I've hardly scratched the surface (mostly because Optus needs to get their shit together and shut their legs)
