Tell us your thoughts about V19, what did you like? what did you hate? Do you have a suggestion? Did we not sell something you wanted?

I'd like to say thank you for changing the final round in Flatout with a 3 part event instead of that bastard-of-a-map Figure of Eight 2 Speaking on behalf of my friend (Antycore) who drove from Mildura, he was extremely pleased with the Pre-Pay system for guaranteeing a spot at the LAN. *Edit: I should have said the LAN was great. And the switch to Pizza Hut was a good move too. Cheers

Fucking email valve and tell them not to update tf2/css/ANYTHING when we have respawn D: QUOTE ('Steam') An update for TF2 has been released. The major changes include: A patch that does nothing yet is sizeable enough to screw Respawners over. QFT LAN was good. Not so sure about that pro section with all the Gigabyte signs. Not really my thing, but I guess there is a place for it and it added a bit of a buzz. Speaking of buzz, I liked the giving away of half the door prizes at the peak of the evening. It really made the place come alive, albeit for 10 mins. Good times were had playing Desert Combat.

What was the total attendance ?
Felt like there was a shit load of room! Disappointing if people aren't turning up! 100% Prepay IMO..... if this is the case!
By 9am this morning the place was half empty already, This i have never seen before!
Apart from that just the normal stuff.... Enjoyed my time there!

We are a little disappointed it was a bit smaller than usual but it was kind of to be expected due to being so close to XMAS... (but I did get the 20% bonus V cans! So I got those who attended a Christmas bonus!! - also assumes you bought one)
HUGE HUGE Shoutout thanks to Gigabyte, Western Digital, Warcom, Cisco Systems, Fractal Design, Thermaltake, Intel (Shirts & Keychains), Billion, Connexus, Gamestah, Atomic and lest we forget, Team Immunity!

Fucking email valve and tell them not to update tf2/css/ANYTHING when we have respawn D: Sorry, one of those pauses were my fault, I went to switch classes to skip to the next spawn point, and my HUD got stuck on the class selection menu so I was forced to restart the game. To counter the Pause Fortress 2 match from happening again, I am thinking of changing the rule regarding pausing (-A team leaves the match before it has been won for non-technical reasons (If there is a network or power drop, the opposing team should pause the server and wait for them to rejoin - teams should consult with the organisers if they would like a rematch)) to also include a limit on pauses, prehaps one per team per match after the other team agrees with it. I was mid-rocketjump during a rollout during one of the many pauses...

Need to be 100% pre pay next time I think.
It was good apart from a few things such as the lack of people etc.
One thing that really pissed off my entire group was the people behind us playing their Wii on their TV with the sound up. The same songs played continuously from about 11am to 11pm. Can we please put a stop to this?

Regardless of whether it was an admin, helper or player, sitting there thinking really hard about their tv blowing up will not sort the problem out. One must make it known that a problem exists before it can be rectified.

I donated the TV for use, so please don't use darth vader mind thoughts on my TV, I worked hard to buy that outright. so please? I also was unaware of any issue regarding the DDR setup. So as Lord Squidness mentioned, tell someone on the front desk for speedy resolutions to concerns!

I actually liked the fact that that was the least smelliest Respawn I went to. The Counter Strike Finals should of been in the middle of the building. it would of been easier to see the players, and be easier to move around. cause some people were in the way and it was fairly anoying at times. The minecraft comp was kinda dissapointing. But it's in alpha, so you can't realy do anything about it. i'll make a suggestion, instead of having everybody clump onto one server, hold a couple and make it a team comp (say 3-4 players) and have 3 teams on each server cause it's heaps better building stuff on minecraft when you do it with friends, and you won't have too many players trying to kill you and build massive holes near the spawn point.

As a first timer at the event, i had a great time. I may have been a little to loud at times so i may appoligise... Energy drinks turn me from an introvert into an extravert (spelling lol) There were a several comments i will make. Please note i had a blast of a time, but there are always things to improve! 1. "Special Fun Events" Not sure how many "free games" were available but i would have loved to see some more even playing field games like Doom for example. Have an admin going around every sitting area reminding all games 30minutes before hand to download it and explain how and get people into it. Would be great to see a Doom comp for example attracting 100 people of the 300? 2. Games for sale It may be worth considering having a couple of keys on hand (or purchaseable via internet by a staff member if people pay cash??). I realise people should obviously turn up with games but it may help events get more numbers and people have more fun? 3. 2-Minute noodles... can't go wrong? 4. Games that make people mingle, get around. While this is a LAN/Gaming event, alot of the fun comes from interacting and getting to know people. While a good portion (half?) may just wanna sit there playing all the time, i am sure there is a good 100-200 who wouldn't mind going on a scavenger hunt... playing a game of soccor... hacky sack comp... slip and slide comp (that would be fun). Eating Contest? 5. Nerf Shots Why not make a Best Nerd Shot game where people can line up and try hit a target some a stupid distance away... with a prize? 6. Shooting nerfs at people and things they are doing for fun. While people with nerfs who have small penises and have to make up for it by buying a gun (nerd)... not even a bb gun.. lol. You do not have to ruin other peoples fun by shooting at anything they are doing such as stacking cans. 3 of my 4 can stacks were shot down mid stack by fucktards. Have a bit of respect for people. 7. More females... Bring a female and get 3/4 price entry for you and her! 8. 9am everyone was gone so i left by 11... disappointed that so many people left... more incentives on the final day perhaps? 9. Music playing over the main speakers.. even if it is soft so people who wanna hear can hear but if i have headphones on there is no chance... its kinda dull without even some music going... just mix it up. Obviously slipknot wouldn't be liked by all but i am sure there are some happy mediums. 10. Better map. Seriously, who does not get lost. Just write under the map on the website "Turn Right IMMEDIATELY after the gatehouse". I got lost and went the wrong way.. sorry squid for calling you lol.

Not all have to have prizes, hell I don't play UT2k4 expecting to win prizes. I play it because it's fun. And the comp being on makes other people play too (if ut2k4 comp isn't on then there's nobody playing.. well last time wasn't anyway).

In terms of AFK comps and funcomps, we had to downscale things a bit. For one we were down an admin and had to make do on a much smaller crew this event. Next LAN however... Hourly funcomps will return your AFK comp favourites will return

if you want more comps, run them yourself
the admins are running all events out of their own time, not because they are paid or anything

I think what Orbit (guy who runs the fun comps) was trying to do, rather then having many short fun comps, we had a few that went through out the event (Diablo II and Minecraft), and the DDR mats and poker for AFK comps.

Yeah, the Iron Gut and HDD throwing was placed on hold for this event sadly guys. It's something I will talk to R4N aboot. (yes for some reasin at 5:33am I am speaking with Canadian dialect)... Besides the hourly... "We are going to play <Insert game here>" do you have any other suggestions? Also, 7-11 made reference to "admins should walk around and announce them and help players", sadly the difficulty here is, We like you, are here to game rather than support you in terms of the "how-to". SirSquid more often than not in his own time leading up to our events, puts together "Respawn DVDs" with the free games that the fun comps are often based off. These are also available off ftp.respawn.lan also (this includes steam suddenly seeing we have an event and doing an update). That said, your suggestions are entirely valid and R4N has certainly noted them amongst the group of us helpers who help the admins run the event. If you are keen on stepping up and being part of the team too, we're all ears... send R4N a PM with this link here.Cheers

This is my 2nd respawn and i couldnt believe how many people left by 9 in the morning i reckon that there should be some game comps on sunday as there is nothing to do and by having more game comps would encourage people to stay on sunday. Also what happened to the redbull girls? i wanted my free redbull there was hardly any afk comps at all which was quite boring. but apart from that i had quite some fun in the cod4 comp and watching css players play possibly make respawn prepay all the time ? having alot more attendance i will definatly be returning to the next respawn

Poker was a pain.. two tables has to take turns playing because there weren't enough chips.. this made sure I sat at the second table for almost an hour and a half waiting for the first table to finish playing. By then, half of my table had found better things to do and so it was another half hour of searching for them so we could get started... Also, I'm not really sure why someone had to put a bin right next to me during the CS tourney.. I know you guys want the cameras and shit, but I really didn't appreciate a (very full) bin being put right beside my chair. Every time I tried to move it I would get death stares from some wanker holding a camera or some shit, so please tell them next time to leave everything as it was. More comps are needed in general (afk, fun, serious) to keep people entertained for the event, and it seems like there are more than enough people willing to help run the comps to help out the admins. Speakers are annoying.. I don't care if you have a laptop with built-in speakers, it doesn't mean that everyone likes your shitty techno garbage.. please stop. Food was great and drinks were always cold. Fun comps need to be announced properly.. I always seem to join the server just as everything is coming to an end and then nothing is said as to who won.. Even though it's just a fun comp, it would be nice for admins to give a shout out to those who won. I really don't think 100% prepay will fix any problems, considering confirmed registrations didn't even fill the player list for this respawn (yes, i'm aware it's almost christmas and that's probably why, so I could be wrong here..) As for us 'small penis fucktards' with nerf guns, we bring them to have some laughs and good, harmless fun. No one ever actually gets hurt from the darts, so please quit bitching if one happens to land near your desk or knock over your can tower (gratz on you, you figured out how to drink too much soft drink...) At the end of all this, I had fun at this respawn and will be back for the next one

QUOTE (jutzy @ Dec 17 2010, 09:45 PM) I beleve that GTA 4 should be on the ftp steam backups too... just because i have the steam version and for some reason it wanted to update/reinstall the game a pain because i wanted to play some GTA 4 You should have asked! It would only have taken a few minutes to fix you up with Steam backup.

QUOTE (jutzy @ Dec 17 2010, 09:45 PM) QUOTE (B3NN @ Dec 17 2010, 08:25 PM) As for us 'small penis fucktards' with nerf guns, we bring them to have some laughs and good, harmless fun. No one ever actually gets hurt from the darts, so please quit bitching if one happens to land near your desk or knock over your can tower (gratz on you, you figured out how to drink too much soft drink...) Unless your zardoz and get hit in the eye at point blank range with a high powered *insert nerf model here* (just sayin ) that was actually R4N that copped my dart to the face

i didn't like the tourneyfags spectator mates one of them comes past knocked over a pile of stuff and my friend had been stacking for what ever reason said "woops" like he was mad shit walks off, not that i cared about the stack of what ever he was just a dick head.
besides that this Respawn was pretty cool, lack of people yes but it had all the people you wanted, well besides my drop kick friends who had "better things to do" probably getting porn from the internet instead from a lan.
i would like to see more fun comps and afk comps H&S was fun but not organised correctly, if it was it could be much better i noticed the seekers just dropped the game pretty quick because hell they were pretty bad or the fact the area was a bit too big with too much freedom for hiders. i enjoyed beating zardoz at his childhood favorite game Puzzle Bubble for a bag of chips and other things like that.
all in all it was good.

was respawn notifier working? i totally forgot about it, remember to make people aware of that, admins
don't need to go 100% prepay, didn't fill up prepay spots OR confirmation spots, the system is fine atm
good lan, though i still think there is some sort of problem with css/cod/tf2 clashing, i recommend moving css or cod to the second day perhaps, since it is the main event of sorts, and that way people can enter all 3. i think tf2 numbers are molested by the scheduling, gl fixing

CSS will most likely be not moved to day 2, it's a major drawcard for us. The 100% prepay was an idea floated by players not admins or the respawn team. It was floated because despite so many regos, the place seemed empty is the comments in here I'm reading. I highly doubt the admin team will change to 100% prepay anytime in the forseeable future. I personally have seen a number of regulars who dont/cant prepay for their own reasons.

QUOTE (7-11 @ Dec 15 2010, 01:28 AM) You do not have to ruin other peoples fun by shooting at anything they are doing such as stacking cans. 3 of my 4 can stacks were shot down mid stack by fucktards. Have a bit of respect for people. I thought can stacks were legit targets, You didn't read the rules! The idea is to stack as many cans as you can before some one shoots them down. Or buy a Nerf gun and swap sides. I do Like the idea of some kind of fun comp Nerf shoot off, Distance, accuracy, Sexiest (take photo's large screen it like the drawing comp), knock over the most tins in least amount of darts etc.
