The problem with that is, Miniwalks spends hours planning the power with slov. If we start adding applicances it can throw the delicate balance off and cause more power to be used elsewhere. So hence Zardoz's straight out "NO".

Also oh&s issues. i.e where is it put etc. personally I am not going to be toasting shit for people at the event or anything for that matter. issues for example are if any one hurts them self or causes damage etc. so there are a range of issues. power is up there as a main one.

I think the simpilist answer is quite simpily no. If people start coming up with exceptions and shit, everyone will want to do it.

Everyone goes 'z0mg! generator lol!'. And all of a sudden, the entire grass area out the back of the hall is filled with small generators and the doorway has a 50cm thick layer of extension cables running through it just to power everyone's personal kettle and toaster.... Epic.

you normally connect solar panels up to a BATTERY they charge the battery during the day but we would need a lot of solar panels XD

QUOTE (Tank @ Feb 12 2009, 12:08 PM) you normally connect solar panels up to a BATTERY they charge the battery during the day but we would need a lot of solar panels XD I realise this, but that means a few things. The most expensive one being we need to essentially double our solar panel array's size to make up for the power used during the night, and then we need huge amounts of SLA (or even just LA) batteries to store the charge, which sort of defeats the purpose of using solar panels if we're only going to use it for one night, 'cos we may as well just charge all the batteries up from mains over the lead up to Respawn, and then use them instead of charging using the extra solar panels that we put in especially for charging the batteries. Or we could set something on fire during the night to power said solar panels. Let's make it a rule... if you trip out the power by plugging in a kettle or the like, you get to be the next sacrificial lamb. Your PC goes with you. If you have a car that's got flammable stuff, so does it. Fuckit. Let's go NUCLEAR. It sounds easier. (Dibs on not dealing with the waste after the LAN).
