Hi guys,

Just noticing a trend towards offering a pay-pal type online ticket purchasing system for LANs. Was curious as to whether people actually thought this was a good idea? I myself am 23 years old, and only just got a credit card last year. I know for a fact that my parental unit would be none too happy about me using thier credit card to make an online transaction... so where does that leave us?

Are there gamers out there with credit cards, or parents that are willing to cough up the goods? I certainly wouldn't think it would be a good replacement for at the door sales completely, that said, if there's sufficient interest, maybe it's worth implementing for those of you who are 18+, or as detailed above, have trusting-net-savvy-parents.

Thoughts?

ive had an account with internet banking facilities long before i got my first visacard.
this has allowed me to access things like ebay without the need for a credit card.

perhaps if we were to bring in the facility to prepay for tickets online we should not limit it to credit cards.

Fair point - didn't realise you could use a regular debit account with PayPal.. that's good news!

what do you mean by regular debit account ?

the only difference between my card and a "proper credit card" is the fact that i have $0 overdraft.
for all intents and purposes my card is a credit card.

also.. i signed up for paypal with my bank account.. fairly sure i havent added my credit card to it.

I meant a flexi-card style account - now i think of it, tris doesn't have a credit card, and he purchases of Ebay (just a flexi).

ebay only needs a non free email and you can register and thus buy off them.

you need a CC and an upgraded account to sell on ebay though.
