SirSquid has summarised most of this but I'm going to make a few points (being an ex-manager of a pizza place) and also helping with the event logistics...
1. sure there are other places out there, but we have negotiated rates with Domino's that have been in place for quite a number of events.
2. We don't just sever a deal with a supplier because "pizzas taste badly". They provide us with 100-150 pizzas at 7pm WITHOUT fail. Despite the Saturday rush. Even if the admin team (and I'm not an admin for the record but know some of the thought processes)... Can this new supplier (home made) keep a promise to offer/deliver 100 pizzas PRECISELY at 7pm without fail and stuff up. (As someone who has run a Domino's in another area and serviced similar clients like Respawn, this is a feat that is highly impossible without precise pre-planning)
3. The team offer you a deal at $8 delivered. You really couldn't get a pizza delivered to you at the event for $8 yourself. Sure for $2-3 more you might be able to go and get a "home made pizza" yourself. But alot of the orderers don't drive. Or really tbh driving to get it.
Comparison for you....
Standard Domino's Pizza delivered: $14.95 (standard crust/toppings - Ie: Meatosaurus) - Even if you use an $8 coupon, it's still MINIMUM $15 DELIVERY so they stack on an $8 delivery charge to make the minimum. Respawn Domino's Pizza delivered: $8.00 (same deal) - NO COUPON REQUIRED - Just a polite smile, with please/thank you's when paying and collecting from Tank.
I don't know what the others charge, but I highly doubt you'll get 1 x Single pizza delivered for $10-11 to you thats "fresh, hot and home-made" as you pointed out in the current market place.
