Basically each tournament will have "pros" rock up take it out and then leave, giving casual gamers not much of a chance at winning prizes. Besides afk comps etc.

Would it be hard for an admin to find a game that Isn't widely played. Such as worms or doom 3. Just as examples and making them a spur of the moment competition. Meaning people know there is an unknown game being played as a tournament but until that time in which the tournament is about to be played no-one is prepared for it. Meaning no-one can pre-determinedly practice on that game giving everyone an equal opportunity or even a chance as winning.

There's really not much to the idea but if anyone needs more detail I'm sure I could explain it a bit better.

Much love.

The fun comps have always been around. And there will always be a pro that can do it better. The bigger prizes have always been for the more popular games that bring people in sadly. I understand your frustration in that the pros always seem to win.
