I personally have been playing Warcraft III Naval Combat for more than a year, i love it to death and am saddened that there isn't a 4v4 comp run.

NC or Battleships as some ppl call it, is an amazing game in that it can be picked up and learned in 10 mins or less, much like Flatout 2. It doesn't require the in depth knowledge of game mechanics of DOTA, nor the reflex training and muscle memory of CS, COD4 and other FPS (First Person Shooters), a team with reasonable communication (say a private teamspeak/ventrillo server or private channel on a public teamspeak/ventrillo server), and inexperienced players, can beat a team of veterans with little difficulty.

The average match usually runs between 40 mins to 3+ hours depending on whether one team decides to go for a quick victory or not.

While unlikely that there will be prizes of any kind for an NC comp for a while, if the support for it does arise, that might change in the future.

So please, register your support for this great, fun game that anyone can pick up and learn faster than you can read this post.

i think the reason mages were banned in house here was because ppl would just grab a xebec in the first 10 mins of so, run into the base and mage the main structure, thus two or three of these runs, even with low lvl mages, would win the game. And a game that short isn't any fun.

Im currently working on a map of my own, similar to the NC map with a few changes. This is slow going because i don't know what abilities are available ingame, i'll probably be working on it at BWL, if i could get a dota player to help me then it'd make things go alot faster.

One thing i might be able to do is set it so that buildings have a very large resistance against magic attacks, making it futile to use mages against them.
