TTD is rather hard to run as a "comp"

The required time frame for a decent TTD game is the entire lan itself

Concur with That Commander - OpenTTD would take a bit too long to 'settle' sadly... And any newbies would be pulling their hair out in seconds.
Similar to Civilization V, Shogun 2 or other long-term RTS - just when things got interesting we'd be packing up :-P
...Which makes me a little sad since OpenTTD, Railroad Tycoon 3, Civ V and Shogun 2 are my favourite games

I vote DoTA 2 if we have a decent connection to the 'net, otherwise WCIII would be an awesome (if humiliating for me) blast from the past
