There is a difference between using DC++ for sharing around demos/shareware for fungame comps and the larger-sized Linux-distros, and using it for prohibited material like illegal game isos or porn.
If an admin was helping you with DC++ and you told them it was for the latter you would have probably been kicked out of the venue.

sharing files such as movies and tv shows is illegal, and not encouraged, OR suppored by any member of the respawn team.

the program 'DC++' is often used to share files such as linux software, and many of the free games (such as Tron) that we use in our Funcomps.

This information is contained in the terms and conditions that you agree to when you register for EACH event, and also when you login to the EMS at the event.

If you continue to discuss the topic of illegal file sharing, there will be repercussions.
