Sup Admins,

TLDR: People bring internet sticks/phones, make official tourney so people prepared.

Lol is awesome and i'd really like to be able to compete in it at an awesome event like re spawn. I know you cant get supply the internet, but can we run a tourney and people play off their wireless modems / phones. Alot of people already do this, i know you we could unofficially try to work something out there. But if you made like an official contest more people would get organised and could plan in advance to bring a means of internet, its not that expensive just to run LoL and its 100% choice if you want to. I think LoL has a big enough player base we could have a sweet tourney. what do you think??

Thanks Zarozz

Obvious Troll is obvious. Ping is normal.

Firstly: I am not an admin/staff member of Respawn so take this as you would.

I have been speaking to Riot games because I wanted to setup a LOL tourney in a Sydney LAN. However with the need of the internet to communicate with LOL's LA servers. They were looking at an "OFFLINE" version of the game but because it would result in servers spawning across the globe they can't control there was concerns. I have played LOL on 3G @ Melbourne airport and Sydney when awaiting for flights and I had between 200-400 ping. It is playable on 3G I agree, but in the hall there has been fuzzy reception for some providers and great for others (its very hit and miss).

If the magical internet gods bestowed on Respawn then I'm sure the guys would have been happy to discuss and find a way to make it happen.

You have to remember, location impacts what carriers have decent reception

Exactly right, I had to use a massive antenna once to get a TTe comp working properly. The on site latrobe tower isnt very good when I was there last. And I'm not even sure what provider it was owned by.

Even different spots in the hall give different coverage.

It really is a bit of a gamble and generally I only really use it for web browsing and IRC and other text based stuff.
