If you read the OP and other posts, you may get a subtle hint of my dislike for arcade racers. smile.gif

Blur is not a racing game.

It's a ... something else.

Is there any more sim-racing interest around here?

Not really, a few of us tried to get some GTR2/Liveforspeed going once... But Respawn players tend to prefer their Grid/Flatout2

Mmmh.

If we can get 5 or more I'd be up for GTR2 on a smaller track. ohmy.gif

I would like to try sim racers, but my demo experience with rFactor shows me that it will be harder to play without a wheel and accelerator, which can give precise steering and power control.

rFactor with a clutch makes for interesting play on a keyboard - either the clutch is on or it's off tongue.gif

I can't try other racing games/sims at the moment until I get past the 'Win2k is not supported' problem tongue.gif

Cheers

Eventually, but at the moment I am sinking funds into an actual car tongue.gif

So, being a racing themed Respawn coming up... can we get some SIM racing action? biggrin.gif

I'm game. Tax return came in, so I can afford to spend money now on things other than the car biggrin.gif

I will hopefully have bought a G25/27 by October, and a few of the games mentioned in this thread.

Cheers

the probley with SIM racing games at a lan like respawn is

A) not many actually play them
cool.gif not many people bring a steering wheel to play them
C) not much room to setup a steering wheel.

i might be able to setup an unofficial comp, however most of the racing comp's this event will be of the arcade variety.

Was Blur one of the games where you couldn't pirate? I have it for PS3, but that's not much use at respawn. sad.gif

Danog: www.cdkeys.com.au That has Blur CD Keys for AUD$23
You can play LAN without making an account (what you need the serial for), however with this you lose achievments (well, stickers) and online play.

Yeah, I figured as much, but if we can even get just a handful, I'm sure the wheel-users could work something out and set up their own games.

Okay, so...
I am wondering who is interested in some sim racing at v18?
Perhaps GTR2, since that's probably the easiest to get going (even if a little visually dated now, but also arguably one of the best).

The whole L-row in the seat reservations allow a the extra space for wheel setups, if last Respawn is anything to go by, so if the pre-payers who are interested in some proper racing could snag those, they wouldn't have to worry too much about where or how they'll set up a wheel. smile.gif
(Any admins around feel free to correct me if I got the wrong aisle letter!)
