nothing really decent for $50. All the headsets under $100 are crappy. You're better off getting a good set of headphones (no mic) and using a seperate mic.

Sennheiser HD201 ($41 www.headphones.com.au ) and a clip on mic maybe?

if you can stretch your budget the beyerdynamic DT234pro is only headset i'd recommend (they don't look as aesthetically pleasing as the ZOMGWTFPROGAMER type 'phones but they are a nice all rounder)
http://headphones.com.au/psingle?productID=16
Theres also the steelsound ones but they are a bit of a rip unless you are a competitive gamer (in which case there are better choices anyway). harsh and unforgiving they only work for FPS games. Listening to music on them would be comparible to using nightvision goggles during the day - useless.

Some people will think that you're bonkers for paying more then 20cents for a pair of headphones but they are worth it imo. Personally i use a set of headphones that are $300 and i love them.

TMM,

im with you on that, headphones you get what you pay for

i used to use the Sennheiser HD555 (over ear, and open design) - not too bad for price

currently i use Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's (closed over-ear) with the 01 Headphone Amplifier, total costing ~500+

as for a mic, i use a free standing Labtec Verse 504

Yep, go for a decent set of headphones, and get a freestanding mic. If you like your audio quality that is smile.gif

If your just after something basic as for gaming, logitech make some.... reasonable headsets around the $50 mark

I'm using Senheiser HD555's with a 3 dollar MSY freestanding mic tongue.gif

Most people arent audiophiles... my $30 tdk set sounds 95% as good as decent headphones. If i used them every day i would get better ones though.

Just get these:

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...roducts_id=6835

Unless your an audiophile nut...

Seriously don't even look at anything else unless you want/need to spend over $100, nothing compares for $39.

They sound as good as Sennys (up to about the $100 mark) and the mic quality is better than my long neck free-standing mic on the other PC (the $3 MSY style)

They are also comfy as bro.
