Flatout 2 Competition Rules

Comp Runner: R4N

Version:
All participants must have flatout 2 updated to version 1.2 to participate in the competition

You can get this patch http://flatoutjoint.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=38&func=startdown&id=138

Competition:
Game:

There are 2-3 rounds to the Respawn Flatout 2 Competition, depending on player numbers.

The first and second round is a points based elimination event across 4 maps.
3 Race
1 Derby

Race and derby tracks will vary for each competition and are decided at the event.

Servers are set to TOURNAMENT mode, and scores are automatically tallied for each server.

Depending on how many elimination servers run during the event, either the highest 2 scores, or the highest score will move on to the next round.

In the event that there are 4 servers or less the competition will have a single elimination round and a final. In the event that there are 5 servers or more, there will be 2 elimination rounds and a final.

The Final round is run in an identical manner to the elimination round, but with different maps.

The tracks for the final round will be decided at the event.

the winner of this final round wins the competition.

Banned Vehicles
All cars are enabled on all servers, but any players caught using the following cars will not have their score recorded for the race in question.

Servers/Gameplay
For anyone new to this competition, I call everyone to the admin desk about 20 minutes before the comp is to begin and sort everyone into groups of 8. 1 of these people will be hosting a game and is responsible for the group joining their game. I will chose the game hosts.

Version 1.2 supports kicking, and each game host will have a list of players who are supposed to be on their server, so anyone in the wrong server will be immediately kicked and the game may proceed without them.

In the case of a player not being ready within a reasonable amount of time will be kicked from the server and will recieve 0 points for that track. The player is able to join the lobby and participate in the remainder of the competition if they wish.

If a player crashes out due to a known bug or error, e.g. black screen of death etc..., or if there is a power/network outage, the map will be replayed.

If a player crashes out due to issues with their own machine, the game will proceed and the player will be able to rejoin the lobby and participate in the remainder of the competition if they wish.

Each server host is responsible of taking a screenshot of the scores on the completion of each race/derby run in round 1.

Any complaints or issues regarding this competition during the event can be made to me at the admin desk.

Competition rules are subject to change without notice.

If you have any other questions please PM me on these forums smile.gif

Enjoy the competition!!!

we had alot of requests from players to ban it due to its power/handling being so far over the top.

The rocket and flatmobile are the only two "non-serious" cars in Flatout (IIRC they aren't even available in singleplayer normally). It used to be allowed on the basis that it had so little health, but after one competition was heavily dominated by it, the decision was made to allow more variety in car choice while remaining competitive.

Hint; play the game and answer your own question.

If i can dominate the first round with a rocket car, there is a problem tongue.gif

It is quite simply far too easy to handle and far too fast. The only way to knock it out of the game is to take advantage of its low armor.

Hence it is banned.

Looks like I'm going to have to fail oohms.

Oohms, you have failed life. You cannot repeat this subject and are being kicked out of IRL. You can obtain some course credits should you return to IRL to attempt a different course.
