Hi,

My pc's broken and I can't figure out whether its the PSU or the Mobo thats causing the problem.

Specs are:

Asus P8P67 Evo, i5 2500k, G skills 2X4gb 2133mhz, seasonic 650w psu, and I've got a 6950 and a 6970 to test with.

Basically it powers on and then stays in a mid POST state. It has a LED to indicate a problem with the CPU and that lights up. I have had it working with a VGA card which requires no extra power.

I would love if someone in Melb Nth suburbs had a PSU that I could borrow for 5 minutes to test out!!!!

Follow this flowchart, it's helped me before.

Edit: Also, is a multi-rail modular PSU? It could just be that you were trying to pull too much power from a single rail.

Thats one heluva poster!

Yeah its a pretty good PSU has 54a available on the +12v rail and is modular.

I've taken the PSU back to the retailer and I'll have to wait a week or two for them to get it sorted.
