[ The good ]

- Registration went smoothly
- Power was flawless (except for 1 table where some idiot kept knocking out the extension lead)
- Competitions were great and were run very efficiently
- Very helpful admins
- Fast network for most of the LAN with minimal downtime (downtime was due to the same idiot from above)
- Could hear the majority of the announcements
- COD4 players weren't too noisy
- Pizza ordering and processing went smoothly
- Great BBQ (as always)

[ The bad ]
- The people who come into the hall and move the reserved tags to other places, you are retards. Myself and several of my friends in a large group were split up into opposite ends of the hall because people moved the reserved seating tags to different places and we were told by Queenie and Sando to basically GTFO for someone elses mistake. In my opinion, the reserved seating system also needs to be reviewed. There needs to be some form of "buffering" so that people cannot book one or two seats in the middle of a massive row meaning that people in a large group cannot sit all in a row. Won't say too much about this as being moved around several times was very annoying to say the least.
- Was a bit cold near the back area towards Pings (doors were electronically locked open for Smokers etc..)
- The guy who brought a box of old pre year 2000 PC parts with him to sell to people to get money for a carton of cigarettes, you need to get a job. Also, stop going around to everyone over and over trying to get them to give you cash in hand for a paypal transfer of probably invalid funds. Seriously, what the f***.

Registration was horrid compared to last LAN.

Sorry to put it out there, but I when rocked up 10 minutes past ten, the prepaid line was mammoth compared to paid. How is that even possible?

{Pro's}

- Network still fantastic smile.gif
- Heaps better on the music front.
- Check-in for non-prepaid people still fast.

{Con's}

Just about everything about the last one that I reviewed as positives turned around - and this sucked.

- More use of bullshit announcements for games. Sounded like Respawn were herding sheep - except sheep are more obedient. >.<
- BO levels stupidly higher this time. Perhaps Respawn need to offer compulsory showers for some >.<
- Gaming - not as many random fun games this one! There were a couple of TF2 games, no GTA IV games, no FlatOut 2 games early on.
- Seriously immature to be screaming Penis and Vagina out again. It's an anatomical word - it's not funny the first time let-alone the 100th. (Maybe I'm just getting too old for this shit though...)

On a more serious note - anyone shooting Nerf bullets really need to stop aiming for the face. One of you copped me right in the eye and stung like buggery for a number of hours (and went noticeably red). Your "what the f*ck are you looking at?" attitude when I looked over was extremely immature as well. Not impressed that there was no apology, just met with attitude. This was a big spoiler.

Will be skipping the September Respawn methinks.

Cheers.

Nerf gunners who injure should be named and shamed on the night.

U MAD BRO?

Kids are having fun, let them be. You are the one who needs to be more mature and accept kids for who they are.

Hell, if I knew you were so pissed off on the day, I'd join in on the immaturity for teh lulz.

iv got nothing against nerfs but if someone hits someone in the face let alone the eye and tht person looks at you and gets told wtf r u looking at, they should GTFO and stop being a rude prick. its not hard to say sorry. nerf bullets can hurt especially from the powered guns it doesnt make u a tuff "cool guy" to be an ass in front of ur mates at a LAN. ITS A LAN FFS!

on a lighter note. i was happy with it. sleeping was good this time. i thinks we need a bigger area. good job on the SC2 comp. next to no lag for 3g and network was impeccable. it would have been good to have some more afk and or fun comps but i was still happy with what there was.

I think the lack of fun games could have been due to steam not working for a large amount of users. I couldn't get onto steam for the whole event and have gta4, flat, etc with steam (steam was even a buggery for offline connect)

Only real issue I had was some inconsiderate 13 year olds who were setup near the toilets blasting music from there laptop at 4am when i was trying to sleep. Also the loud giggling/screaming/yelling and kicking of the big wooden folding doors was also immature and annoying. Especially when you've had minimal sleep from setup.

Also another note. People spending up/down union drive is concerning. Especially when I'm trying to help people with parking/answering car park 3 questions.

Overall, a good lan.

If someone loses an eye from it, then the admin team would have to consider banning Nerf which would destroy the fun of the nerf. Please be careful and do not aim for someone's face under any circumstances.

If you happen to hit someone in the face, it's shouldn't be a big deal to simply apologise for the error. As the old saying goes "Its all fun until someone gets their eye poked out"...

common sense must prevail!

There was an announcement that woke me up but it was kinder important so I am not complaining. But what I am going to complain about is the idiots that decided it would be "funny" to walk up stairs and talk extremely loudly about waking up one of their mates. "yeah dude! wake him up!!, it would be funny!!"... There are others trying to sleep!!

If you find a way to implement a douche-detector at the entrance to the venue, we'd love to know. dry.gif

Even though this was my first respawn of hopefully many to come. There were a few cons now that i think of it.

Con
- When i was trying to setup for the can building competition i was holding a bunch over the edge of the balcony. Some ass shot me with a nerf gun in my eye and i almost lost grip of them. (Would've caused an injury or damage if they fell). He didn't even say sorry.
- Cleanup could be a bit better. A friend of mine who goes to latrobe on weekdays told me that he was able to find a few chips and capacitors from the mac smashing in the amphitheater. (I'll help out with finding some next time outside, I'm a green-fag)
- The disorganization during the counter strike gun-game comp (near midnight). We had several rounds where the guns were turned off and on. We had no official word on which round was the actual competition game.
- The nerf people (Yes that again) even after i asked them to stop shooting me (politely might i add). you guys just wouldn't stop. Even after I told the individual.
-The light's is it really necessary to keep them off all the way until midday? I mean I know people are sleeping but was it really supposed to be as dim as my room right now? (Lights have all burnt out:))

Although there were positives...
- The environment was kept nicely clean and people were generally friendly, apart from the few "imature's" (Nerf people I'm looking in your general direction)
- Little to no network problems apart from having trouble connecting to other servers on counter strike.
- Thing's weren't really over the top LOUD. (Cod people thanks for being considerate of the people sleeping around you. (sometimes:))

It might seem that just from looking at this that ive been really harsh but just let me say that the positives are a much bigger plus than they sound.

Even though the nerf stuff isnt refering to me, it still makes me feel guilty for just using them.
