Can someone please let me know what the go with UT3 regarding versions is, I've had conflicting things at the past few respawns

1) Legit STEAM version, fully patched
2) Non steam version, patched to 2.1 with titans
3) Nons team version, unpatched.

Which should I go with?

Both the Steam and non-steam version are compatible. Both will work.*

Fully patched, 2.1 with titans. (or whatever the latest is).

* - UT3 has been known to just ... not work. For no apparent reason. People with identical installs sitting right next to them can connect, yet the other person cannot. nfi why. However, either of the up to date version will work, pending UT3 being a shitty engine.

Advice, log into UT3 before respawn before coming. Then at respawn, stay in offline mode. I've seen their servers reject legit keys at LANs. I believe this to be something about more than 8 players having the same IP, but I could be wrong.

2.1 is the latest patch (UT3Patch5.exe). If your game isn't patched up, don't worry as I have all patches available. Also, if you have an NVidia card, make sure you have the latest drivers with the latest PhysX. wink.gif

UT3 will not be able to log in at the LAN due to the internet being restricted to Steam authentication only. The CD key thing will not be a problem.

I don't see why you don't just convert it to the STEAM version, especially if you already play any kind of STEAM game (TF2, CSS ect)

Because I'm lazy and it wouldn't really make a difference I don't think.

Because then that's just one more thing that can break.

"OH SORRY. You can't play this game in offline mode."
