For a long time I or another admins have had to close or delete forum posts/threads about DC++ because people seem to not be understanding the point.

RESPAWN DOES NOT SUPPORT NOR CONDONE THE USE OF DC++ AT OUR LAN

To put it simply, if you come up to the admin desk with a DC++ problem, we wont help you. There are many reasons for this:
  • DC++ is a protocol, and there are many pieces of software that support it. We cannot learn them all
  • If your game performance is not affected, then it really isnt an issue with our network. We do not really have time to go digging around in your PC to find the problem
  • There are obvious legal issues.
  • We can't tell you what version to use.
  • We won't help you with said version under ANY circumstances.

I am going to sticky this thread, as well as post a similar item on the projector at lans from now on. Please do not feel offended if we turn your DC++ query away, or close your DC++ thread on the forums, we are just doing what we need to do to make this lan as awesome as possible.

Regards,

R4N
