hey guys.

After a second hand 24/48 port rackmount gigabit switch. Preferably managed - basic management enough to etherchannel or load ballance ports.

$500 max, thanks.

we just threw out about 50 of those 24 port gig switches at work, doing a network upgrade =(

Fiber isn't the next step up, it's just another medium that can deliver the same speeds, just in most circumstances over longer distances.

However, They probably moved to something with 10GB backbones, or some kind of blade switching unit for a faster back plane.... As a wild stab.
