If you go to Demos in Origin you'll find the full version of BF1942 free to download.

Still people playing it.

Is there a way to extract a legit key from the origin version so we don't have to use it? I do love 1942 but not all these stupid distribution platforms

If you want good deals you have to check gumtree/ebay/ocau etc almost every day and be prepared to pay a little more than most others

Somehow i sorta got into collecting consoles, and the only thing stopping me from getting more is that we have no more room in the lounge to have them all set up blink.gif

Those consoles are less common and fairly sought after so they will naturally fetch a higher price... if you consistently keep an eye on ebay and gumtree you might get lucky one day and score a deal

I would of come, but now that I'm married, the wife kinda dictates what I do with my time. Although I have been given permission for September :-)

That said, this last respawn had the best atmosphere since the last small event.. If you are a regular or semi regular and you know a few others at respawn you really are missing out by not going

I seem to remember that at some point it was suggested that there be an Old School version of Respawn where everyone brings their 486 or Pentium class computers

Thoughts?

Old school lan!

Would be awesome... altho we'd need a lot of tech support people to get everyone's boxes set up and working

Well it is called iron gut for a reason... but maybe we should introduce custard chugging again as a separate competition?

Yeah i ordered the surstromming from sweden... it is safe to eat (and meant for human consumption)

I don't think we'd ever do iron gut with non food items wink.gif

The dedicated server itself looks like the same one that goes way back to cod1/q3 and most of the commands are the same.. they just added steam based authentication so in theory it should work fine

My favourite are reds... but you really do have to try before you buy (had blacks but i found them far too stiff for long gaming sessions)

If you keep steam up to date and you don't save your steam password, you can usually get into offline mode quickly by unplugging your network cable before opening steam, then plugging it in after it has loaded up in offline mode

I know it's now 2 years since the OP but. Promodlive 2.11 AU is out. You guys thinking of going to that or sticking with 2.07?

We'll run 2.11 NE, if we have any issues with it at respawn we'll go back to 2.07 wink.gif

Some of the stock maps are pretty shit for competitive play.. i will discuss with deadman about custom maps, otherwise i'll stick with the current maplist.

Will update to promod 2.11 NE (if we have any issues we'll run 2.07)
