Respawn is proud to announce that the Call of Duty: BlackOps GIGABYTE E-Sports Championships 2011 will be featured at the upcoming Respawn LAN v20 on April 16th. The competition has almost $5000 worth of prizes, so it will certainly attract some of the fiercest competition ever seen by the walls of Union Hall.

The competition will be held during the Saturday of Respawn along side regular Respawn programming. The Melbourne qualifiers for the event are to be held on the 2nd of April and a yet to be finalised venue. Interested teams should see the GESC website for futher information.

Nice. Will good see some familiar faces from the COD community there.

Question: Will this coincide with the COD4 comp run @ Respawn? I might be participating for both if my team qualifies for BO...

Although timetables for both have not been finalised to my knowledge, if past events are anything to go by, the overlap will be almost 100%. You will have to pick one or the other.
