Hi, I plan on coming to the next Respawn but was wondering if I was able to bring one of my servers (not high powered, 65watts at idle) from home?

I will be coming with my Gaming PC regardless wink.gif

Thanks,

Mok

you can bring your server if you want but you have to pay for another spot at the Respawn as you are only given 0.9 meters and allocated 1 port on the switch

lol Nah I'm not paying another $35 just to bring along a server.

But by your logic, If i placed my server under the desk and my gaming pc on the desk directly above it then connected the switch into server and bridged that connection to my gaming pc via a second gigabit nic it would be perfectly fine? tongue.gif

There are two reasons why we don't usually like people doing this:

1. Power - we distribute the power with the assumption that we only have one PC per desk. Any more than that and we risk losing power to entire tables.
2. Network - traditionally, we only have one port per player on a row of tables. If everyone brought their servers, we'd run out of ports.

The network ports won't be an issue for this particular event but the power may be.

To work around this, we can sit servers up the front on our server table. Would this work for you?
