A full double elim comp is not planned.

We planned to run a funcomp at V10, but steam updates got in the way.

Hopefully we can get a funcomp running without too much difficulty at V11 smile.gif

After that comp ill gauge interest for future events

R4n, if you are worried about variables, TF2 has a tournament mode built in. You simply need to set MP_tournament to 1 and it'll do it all for you

Setting up a working server isnt really the issue.
The major issues with making a TF2 competition a regular thing are:
1. there simply doesnt seem to be that many people wanting to play in a TF2 competition when there is a CS, COD, DOTA comp running
2. there isnt any more room for a major competition

We really wanted to get a TF2 comp off the ground last lan. but our internet connection simply cannot handle a few hundred people updating TF2 at once, and as such we had a whole lot of people who simply couldnt connect due to mismatched versions.

Hopefully next lan a TF2 update doesnt occur ON the weekend.

time permitting "im running with a skeleton crew in terms of competitions for this event" i will get a smaller comp for TF2 off the ground. But the number of teams entered will have to be limited etc...

(if there is someone expierenced in running TF2 servers/tournaments reading this PM me if you are interested in helping me with a possible competition "this doesnt mean im 100% running one")

if need be, I have an old set of GCF and matching server files which work with UCL, which means no trouble if steam breaks.
Same goes for L4D, CS:S, DOD:S. I think. TF2 and L4D at least.

I'd say the comp went pretty well this lan. 8 teams of 5, the rounds were well organized, and TF2's built in tournament mode works perfectly ^^. Hopefully we'll see even more interest next time.
