I remember a couple of respawns ago there was a DS tetris comp or something? We should do that, i see lots of people with DS's around.

Games that are good for competitions:

Tetris DS
Mario Kart DS
Metroid Prime Hunters
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

Also, for any of you that have homebrew, someone has even managed to make a QUAKE DS port, which i have played singleplayer but have yet to find anyone to play MP with

Well the tetris comp at the last event was certainly very successful, i think we got about 16 or so players?

We should def have Mario Kart next time, it has support for 16 players

I'll definitely be running a Tetris DS comp again next event, and will probably bring on Mario Kart and MPH too! Not sure about Pokemon, I haven't played it. How would you run that?

There is a 'light cup' challenge, which is 3 pokemon of level 30 or lower, but with no evolutions.

Standard cup rules are 3 pokemon lvl 50 or lower

However, in the ad-hoc (local wireless multiplayer) union room, you can have battles of two pokemon level 30 or lower, no other restrictions. This is probably the mode we should use at the lan, it's not unreasonable that fans of the game would have two pokemon close to level 30

As with other fun / afk comps, the prize is usually a chocolate bar or something equally as small, yet fun smile.gif

DS Multiplayer game staples tier

God Tier:
Mario Kart
Tetris
(Both awesome pick up and play games that can be played in short stints or for ages)

High Tier:
Advance Wars (personally, I prefer Dual Strike over Dark Conflict)
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
(These first two tend to take a bit of extra time to get into)
New Super Mario Bros
(Fun but repetitive)

Mid Tier:
Metroid Prime Hunters
Star Fox Command
Mario Hoops 3 on 3
(Some poor choices for controls hinder these from being higher)

Shit Tier:
Everything else

Wild Card:
Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs/Dragons
I found this to be fun for a little while. You pimp out your dinosaur or dragon with different parts that have different stats and FIGHT TO THE DEATH ZOMG LIZARD BATTLE ROYALE!
