Respawn LAN v18 winners!

Thanks for everyone who helped stick around for packup which was longer than usual. Those who enjoy our company should stick around next time to help us - remember, many hands make light work!

We should also make a special note about the network we ran for the last event. Thanks to a little help from Cisco Systems, we were able to deliver what has been the FASTEST LAN PARTY we've ever run, with 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) running to most tables. The equipment we used was based on a Cisco Nexus 5020 switch, using a mixture of 2148 and 2248 series Fabric Extenders and Cisco 3750E and 3750G switches to deliver the fastest performing network we've ever had the pleasure of using.

2nd place: Sound Effects, other than selecting a name which was a bit more G-rated, won ...

This is perhaps one of the most anticipated competitions from the admin team! DemonicHorse took the $150 cash prize thanks to The Hub LAN cafe.

Warcraft 3 hasn't been run for ages... And I think HAWX was run, not certian though

Also, as far as i am aware, some of the fun comps weren't run due to time concerns/overworked admins, which is fair enough.

I wasn't there (no ride) and the person I told to pick up my Armagetron mouse didn't pick it up... Can I pick it up next time?

We were very clear about the prize having to be collected at the previous event. Sorry!

Squid, can we have some sort of big prize for the best player throughout the LAN. (Cash and a trophy?)

You could allocate a certain number of points for positions placed in each game throughout the event, (i.e):

1st = 10 points
2nd = 8 points
3rd = 6 points
4th = 4 points
5th = 3 points
6th = 2 points
7th and below = 1 point

Then tally the points up at a certain time on the Sunday (10am?) and the overall winner is decided.

Doing this would encourage people to participate in games throughout the event, rather than just leech from DC++. This could apply to both Funcomps and actual tournament matches, or whatever you see fit.

We'll see. Keep in mind that comps may be included as well (your best score from 1 of the big 3 shooters, flatout, etc)
