GTA4 for fun Options

Anyone want to try get a big GTA4 game going for fun?
We tried to at v11 but it was pretty short notice and was during cod4 comp.

Last time i saw a whole bunch of people playing, and i started to install it.

I just installed GTA4 on my new i7 machine and can't get the piece of shit going. I had it running fine on my dual core.

Thought GTAIV was supposed to run better on multi core CPU's... since it's a game that can actually use 4 cores.

Not sure, I get an error which is very misleading from rockstar. so going to fresh install.

Tale your woes here! We may be able to help you. I know that at least myself spent quite a bit of time trouble shooting both my and a few mate's installations of GTA. I even discovered an undocumented fix for one of the errors! (Huzzah!).

And yes, TechL, it runs *much* better on >1 core. It rapes my q6700. But at least I can play it, unlike one of my mates with a single core. Damn, that runs badly.

I got it working within 2minutes of posting my last message in this thread.

Created a folder for with all the patches (1.01 etc) to help some friends fix theirs.

make sure you install GTA4 and update to patch 1.0.4.0

if you do not have this patch and crack search savage on DC++ and you can leech it off me!

i plan to start playing this with some mates after the css and cod4 tourneys are completed!

it will be sweet as if we can get a whole bunch of people to join!
