Tell us your thoughts about V19, what did you like? what did you hate?
Do you have a suggestion?
Did we not sell something you wanted?

TELL US!

I'd like to say thank you for changing the final round in Flatout with a 3 part event instead of that bastard-of-a-map Figure of Eight 2 biggrin.gif

Speaking on behalf of my friend (Antycore) who drove from Mildura, he was extremely pleased with the Pre-Pay system for guaranteeing a spot at the LAN.

*Edit: I should have said the LAN was great. And the switch to Pizza Hut was a good move too.

Cheers

An update for TF2 has been released.
The major changes include:
A patch that does nothing yet is sizeable enough to screw Respawners over.

QFT

LAN was good.
Not so sure about that pro section with all the Gigabyte signs. Not really my thing, but I guess there is a place for it and it added a bit of a buzz.
Speaking of buzz, I liked the giving away of half the door prizes at the peak of the evening. It really made the place come alive, albeit for 10 mins.
Good times were had playing Desert Combat.

What was the total attendance ?

Felt like there was a shit load of room! Disappointing if people aren't turning up! 100% Prepay IMO..... if this is the case!

By 9am this morning the place was half empty already, This i have never seen before!

Apart from that just the normal stuff.... Enjoyed my time there!

We are a little disappointed it was a bit smaller than usual but it was kind of to be expected due to being so close to XMAS... (but I did get the 20% bonus V cans! So I got those who attended a Christmas bonus!! - also assumes you bought one)

HUGE HUGE Shoutout thanks to Gigabyte, Western Digital, Warcom, Cisco Systems, Fractal Design, Thermaltake, Intel (Shirts & Keychains), Billion, Connexus, Gamestah, Atomic and lest we forget, Team Immunity!

Sorry, one of those pauses were my fault, I went to switch classes to skip to the next spawn point, and my HUD got stuck on the class selection menu so I was forced to restart the game.

To counter the Pause Fortress 2 match from happening again, I am thinking of changing the rule regarding pausing (-A team leaves the match before it has been won for non-technical reasons (If there is a network or power drop, the opposing team should pause the server and wait for them to rejoin - teams should consult with the organisers if they would like a rematch)) to also include a limit on pauses, prehaps one per team per match after the other team agrees with it. I was mid-rocketjump during a rollout during one of the many pauses...

Need to be 100% pre pay next time I think.

It was good apart from a few things such as the lack of people etc.

One thing that really pissed off my entire group was the people behind us playing their Wii on their TV with the sound up. The same songs played continuously from about 11am to 11pm. Can we please put a stop to this?

Speakers are banned. You can put a stop to it by reminding them of this or, failing that, asking us to remind them (in no uncertain terms) that speakers are banned.

Its was the admins who were playing music through the speakers.

I don't recall seeing a wii behind the front desk, I assume you mean one of the helpers? Regardless of whether it was an admin, helper or player, sitting there thinking really hard about their tv blowing up will not sort the problem out. One must make it known that a problem exists before it can be rectified.

I believe he speaks of the DDR system in the Annexe. I donated the TV for use, so please don't use darth vader mind thoughts on my TV, I worked hard to buy that outright. so please? I also was unaware of any issue regarding the DDR setup. So as Lord Squidness mentioned, tell someone on the front desk for speedy resolutions to concerns!

I actually liked the fact that that was the least smelliest Respawn I went to.
The Counter Strike Finals should of been in the middle of the building. it would of been easier to see the players, and be easier to move around. tongue.gif cause some people were in the way and it was fairly anoying at times.

The minecraft comp was kinda dissapointing. But it's in alpha, so you can't realy do anything about it.
i'll make a suggestion, instead of having everybody clump onto one server, hold a couple and make it a team comp (say 3-4 players) and have 3 teams on each server cause it's heaps better building stuff on minecraft when you do it with friends, and you won't have too many players trying to kill you and build massive holes near the spawn point.

As a first timer at the event, i had a great time. I may have been a little to loud at times so i may appoligise... Energy drinks turn me from an introvert into an extravert (spelling lol)

There were a several comments i will make. Please note i had a blast of a time, but there are always things to improve!

1. "Special Fun Events"
Not sure how many "free games" were available but i would have loved to see some more even playing field games like Doom for example. Have an admin going around every sitting area reminding all games 30minutes before hand to download it and explain how and get people into it. Would be great to see a Doom comp for example attracting 100 people of the 300?

2. Games for sale
It may be worth considering having a couple of keys on hand (or purchaseable via internet by a staff member if people pay cash??). I realise people should obviously turn up with games but it may help events get more numbers and people have more fun?

3. 2-Minute noodles... can't go wrong? tongue.gif

4. Games that make people mingle, get around. While this is a LAN/Gaming event, alot of the fun comes from interacting and getting to know people. While a good portion (half?) may just wanna sit there playing all the time, i am sure there is a good 100-200 who wouldn't mind going on a scavenger hunt... playing a game of soccor... hacky sack comp... slip and slide comp (that would be fun). Eating Contest? tongue.gif

5. Nerf Shots
Why not make a Best Nerd Shot game where people can line up and try hit a target some a stupid distance away... with a prize?

6. Shooting nerfs at people and things they are doing for fun.
While people with nerfs who have small penises and have to make up for it by buying a gun (nerd)... not even a bb gun.. lol. You do not have to ruin other peoples fun by shooting at anything they are doing such as stacking cans. 3 of my 4 can stacks were shot down mid stack by fucktards. Have a bit of respect for people.

7. More females...
Bring a female and get 3/4 price entry for you and her!

8. 9am everyone was gone so i left by 11... disappointed that so many people left... more incentives on the final day perhaps?

9. Music playing over the main speakers.. even if it is soft so people who wanna hear can hear but if i have headphones on there is no chance... its kinda dull without even some music going... just mix it up. Obviously slipknot wouldn't be liked by all but i am sure there are some happy mediums.

10. Better map. Seriously, who does not get lost. Just write under the map on the website "Turn Right IMMEDIATELY after the gatehouse". I got lost and went the wrong way.. sorry squid for calling you lol.

I personally think that there should just be more comps all together, and possibly more than one comp for some games. Not all have to have prizes, hell I don't play UT2k4 expecting to win prizes. I play it because it's fun. And the comp being on makes other people play too (if ut2k4 comp isn't on then there's nobody playing.. well last time wasn't anyway).

I think if we want more comps people who are not admins need to step up and push for / run them?
