Respawn 12 will go down in the books as the biggest and most sucessful Respawn LAN event we've ever had. With what we'd say was the most stable power and network that we've seen (bar one table, which suffered a faulty switch which was replaced mid-event).
Onto the prize winners:
Babo Violent - Little Man (Thermaltake Mousepad + Trophy) TeeWorlds - Little Man (Core2 Backpack + Trophy) War3 1v1 - ors $150 HL2DM - atticus Core2 backpack + redeye UT2k4 - TT Mousepad H.A.W.X - Big Dick Army Team - Logitech attack3 joystick x3 COD4 - National Socialist Team - $250 Flatout 2 - Oohms - Momo Steering Wheel RA3 - Team Asplode - $90 TF2 - Autofix $300 CS:S - CyberCore - $250 CS:S GunGame - (A not-PG-rated clan name to do with a Dolphin), Smoke (Thermaltake Mousepad and a trophy each)
And the door prizes for those who stuck around till Sunday: Respawn LAN T-sirts: Jemmasaura, Dimitri, Ramrules, Patryn Trophies - SpaceFrog ThermalTake case - Vortex Vandel (you should have seen the old case he had before - it was from some sort of 486!). Energy drink and chocolate bar - Eniz
A big thanks to all those who helped out during the event, especially those who hung around till the end to help us pack up. It really does make a big difference!
See you next time. |

Announcing the latest installment of Melbourne's most popular and biggest BYO PC LAN gaming event,

RESPAWN LAN 12 July 4-5th 2009 La Trobe University Union Hall
From the depths of the Respawn LAN admin and gopher team, we bring you yet another two action packed days of BYPC LAN gaming and awesomeness!
We do regret to inform everyone that we've had to bump the entry fee to $30. This is to cover rising costs of running the event which have impacted our ability to grow - always remember that not one single person makes a personal profit from the event so all money goes straight back in to making the events more badass for everybody.
Competitions will include:
- Counter-Strike Source 5v5
- Team Fortress 2 6v6
- Warcraft III 1v1
- Call Of Duty 4 5v5
- Call Of Duty 4 deathmatch
- Flatout 2
- Unreal Tournament 2004 Instagib deathmatch
- Half-Life 2 Deathmatch MEGA free for all
Note that we've decided not to run a 5v5 DOTA competition this time around due to decreasing interest.
More information soon! For now, registrations are open...
