Flatout 2 competition
|
30th December 2008 - 07:39 PM |
|
Hi all
We have some updated Flatout 2 rules over on the forums. In summary, you'll want to make sure you download the 1.2 patch before playing as this solves some instability with the game.
As for registrations, we are planning on increasing capacity due to the unprecedented demand for the event. Stay tuned! |

ThermalTake have graciously contributed to Respawn LAN v10 with FIVE ThermalTake V9 VJ40001W2Z cases as prizes for the Counter-Strike: Source 5v5 competition! These cases have an RRP of $129.00!
Other prizes such as a second place prize for CS Source and other competitions will be announced shortly. Stay tuned!
Another note regarding our registrations, we already have 301 registered and there's still four weeks to go till the event! We'll be looking at ways to fit as many people as possible in our venue should the numbers increase dramatically however we strongly suggest that you register now to avoid epic fail.

Respawn LAN 10 launch!
|
9th November 2008 - 03:39 PM |
|
Respawn LAN v10 Launch November 21st, 6PM onwards, So Bar (18+ only) 270 Russell Street, Melbourne
'sup?
We're doing an event launch party at SO BAR on the 21st of November - we'll open registrations then and there, too! If all goes well, we'll have some 3G Internet available so you can be one of the first on the list for our biggest event yet! We hope to see you all there.
Extreme LAN is back! Extreme LAN is back in action with their 16th event on November 22nd-23rd (Yeah, that's right, the day after our launch) at Monash University, Clayton Campus. These guys run some fantastic events with good prizes and a great venue so we strongly encourage everybody to come along. We have our own group of seats so PM Zardoz or just ask in our IRC channel and we'll hook you up with the password to join our tables.
Their website can be found at http://www.extremelan.net/ |

Sup?
Hope you all had a great LAN! Once again your feedback is invaluable so we know how to improve for our next event which is already in deep planning for January 17-18th next year!
So how did we go?
Awesome. We sold out almost every seat! A big shout to the guys from FragFest who came down and LANned with us right till the end! Hawks supporters were also in luck with their glorious win over the Cats as we watched the Grand Final on the projector.
When's the next Respawn?
January 17th-18th 2009. Mark this one in the calendars! We'll be sure to let you know when registrations are open. Be warned that unregistered players will be charged $30 at the door!
What's the deal with that anyway?
Well, glad that we pretend that you asked! Expect the biggest Respawn LAN ever with more prizes, competitions and general mayhem. We'll do a few things differently, like run the Flatout 2 competition on the latest version and draw a door prize on the Saturday night.
So who won what?
Door prizes: ThermalTake LANBOX: Evil Zero Footy Money Boxes: Curacao, Deadeye, WooKiEs_GuRL, Mio, Gyix Razer Keyboard (thanks to Centre Com): Mikeyn Curacao: Footy money box + empty cardboard box! (which he left behind..)
Competitions: Call Of Duty 4: MCDN who won $250 cash Flatout 2: oohms (again). Someone needs to beat this guy! He won a Razer mouse thanks to Centre Com. War3 DOTA: Magical Elements who took $250 cash War3 1V1 : Ors who yet again, won the $150 cash Quake III Arena: Bozza_69, taking a Belkin (by Razer) Gaming keypad thanks to Centre Com UT2004: Vaash who took a TT Ruby Orb CPU cooler. HDD throwing: Z_Brutalis did the most damage to the PC and won a TT Xaser Bag for his efforts!
Well done to all competitors!
A big thanks to everyone who was involved. This includes the core admin team, the team leaders, the gophers and everybody who lent us a hand during the event.. and at pack-up when things are the most critical. We do notice this and this assistance is appreciated!
Drinks are at SO BAR tomorrow (Friday 10th), 270 Russell St in the CBD. Come for a beer and a friendly chat with Melbourne's fastest growing LAN gaming community! |
