Prizes and competitions!
Registrations are OPEN! We have also decided to increase the prize money for some of our popular competitions. Details are still being finalised however we have confirmed that we will be running the following competitions:- Warcraft III 1v1: $300 first prize, $100 second
- Warcraft III DOTA 5v5: $500 first prize
- Counter-Strike 5v5: $500 first prize
- Flatout 2 (which will run on Saturday)
- Call Of Duty 4
We're also looking at having some poker happening under the balcony throughout the event. Hard drive throwing will RETURN this time for sure.

Gamerthon!
Our friends at Anything Interactive are running an event staring on March 31st and ending on Respawn weekend. Their competitions include Call Of Duty 4 which runs on the Tuesday and CS Source which completes on the Friday. More information can be found at their website, http://www.gamerthon.net. |

Once again, we're back in action with another fun-filled event!
More details to be available over the coming days, but to wet your appetite, we'll have a bigger console area, bigger prizes for Warcraft III and TF2 and more!

We've (mostly) recovered.
A big thanks goes out to absolutely everyone who helped us with setting up, running and packing up the event. We really do appreciate it and this doesn't go unnoticed. Especially pack-up, when we're all tired, worn out and want to get out of there as quickly as possible.
Also, a big thanks goes out to our sponsors for this event - Next Byte, Thermaltake and CyberSlam for their continued support for our events and the gaming community in general.
A total of 16 teams signed up for the CS Source competition and we had a very big following with COD4 and Team Fortress 2 which we will run again next event. We will also look at working on our scheduling for our next event to ensure that people can compete in more than one competition without having to delay them. Stay tuned for details!
Plans are already underway for our next event which we should see sometime in the April-May timeframe (or perhaps earlier if we get the itch!).

DOTA 5v5 - The Fighting Mongooses - $250
War3 1v1 - 1st place: ForHelen $150, 2nd place Jarvs who won $50 and both took home a Thermaltake polo shirt.
CS:S 5v5 - Czar - $750, second place LiQt, who won Thermaltake LED fans.
TF2 - 6v6 - LiQt - $300
Splashy The Whale - Spiteful - Respawn T-Shirt + stuff
Q3 Instagib: first place Bangalores who took home a Thermaltake notebook cooler, second place kto (a close match!) who won a ThermalTake Tai-Chi M2 mousepad.
'Ghetto' table tennis - justin6 who won a trophy and a Respawn LAN v6 t-shirt.
Flatout2 - Oohms who won a Thermaltake Golden Orb II CPU cooler
Door Prize winners:
Meatballs - Thermaltake Thunderblade 80mm led fan Tibor - Thermaltake O3 air cleaner bunnyhunter is always winning stuff and took home a Thermaltake Thunderblade LED fan (after we gave it to him..)
The hard drive throwing didn't run this time however it will be back for sure at v7 and we might bump this to Saturday so that more people can take part.

Respawn LAN is proud to announce the inclusion of Thermaltake and the Next Byte La Trobe University store (formerly the Smart Shop) as sponsors for this event.
Thermaltake will be contributing the following:
1 x Lanparty Kit. 1 x TaiChi M Notebook Cooler. 9 various case fans 3 x'Perfect Light' Case lights. 2 x Thermaltake Polo Shirts.
The info from Next Byte will be announced soon.
We will also be running the big Quake III Arena Instagib match as we usually do in addition to our other competitions. Corona from Anything Interactive will be lending a hand with the Counter-Strike Source competition ensuring it all runs smoothly.
We will also be organising some Call Of Duty 4 matches due to popular demand. |

Respawn LAN v6 January 12-13th 2008 Union Hall, La Trobe University, Bundoora 400 players!
Once again, the Respawn team are bringing you yet another installment of Melbourne's finest BYOPC LAN gaming. We haven't decided on the theme for this one yet so we're wanting to hear from you, our favorite community, as to what you would like.
Competitions will include the usual slaw: * Counter-Strike: Source 5v5 with a $750 first prize * Warcraft III 1v1 - $150 first prize, $50 second * Warcraft III DOTA - prize to be announced ($250 cash minimum)
And will be joined by a Team Fotress 2 competition by POPULAR DEMAND. Also returning will be our hard drive throwing, console gaming and more!
With the release of Call Of Duty 4, Gears Of War and Crysis, we expect this one to be full of the latest and greatest gaming (2x 8900GTS for Christmas, anyone?)
